Democracy
At Democracy Awareness Initiative, we believe democracy only works if people show up not just to vote, but to stay informed, speak out, and hold leaders accountable. This isn’t about left or right. It’s about what’s right for the country.
We’re pushing for a national Democracy Awareness Holiday because democracy should not be something we only think about every four years. It should be something we talk about, learn about, and act on — every year.

This initiative is built on a few core ideas:
  • Civic education matters. People deserve to know how their government works and how their voice fits into it.
  • Participation should be easier, not harder. Everyone should have equal access to voting, information, and representation.
  • Respecting democracy means protecting it. That includes calling out threats, fighting disinformation, and making space for real conversation.

We want to create a culture where democracy is something people are proud to understand and ready to defend. That starts with visibility. It grows through action.

Who We Are

We are educators, veterans, organizers, parents, students, small business owners, and everyday people who give a damn. We are not backed by a political party or a billionaire. We are powered by people like you who care enough to step up.
